Our Tier 1 Mining Client is seeking an experienced Contracts & Procurement Specialist to support a major resources project based in Perth.
Roster: 5/2 Perth CBD
Start date: October 2026
Duration: approx. 12 months - with potential to extend
Pay Rate: $75.00 p/h + Super depending on experience
Please note that only people with relevant experience will be considered and contacted. The Role This role will be responsible for supporting end-to-end contract and procurement activities, with a particular focus on construction works and services, capital procurement, and pre- and post-award contract management.
Working closely with project and commercial stakeholders, you will help deliver commercially robust outcomes while managing risk, optimising value and ensuring effective contract award, execution and close-out.
Key Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Support the development, coordination, evaluation and execution of tender packages for construction contracts, equipment and services.
- Assist with contract negotiations, including commercial terms and pricing, to support project schedules, budgets and appropriate risk allocation.
- Prepare clear and structured contract documentation, including terms and pricing schedules.
- Prepare and manage contract award recommendations and supporting documentation for internal approvals and execution.
- Manage contracts through the post-award lifecycle, including contract administration, claims management, payment claim assessments, correspondence and close-out.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, contractors and suppliers across multiple work packages.
- Support commercially sound outcomes aligned with project objectives, governance and compliance requirements.
Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years' experience in project contracting and procurement within mining, infrastructure, oil and gas or similar project environments.
- Experience across construction-related work packages, ideally including Civils, NPI, SMP and/or EIC.
- A tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Robust capability in contract negotiation, contract administration and claims management.
- A sound understanding of project delivery models, construction contracts and commercial risk allocation.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to produce explicit, accurate and commercially sound documentation.
- A proactive, accountable and outcome-focused approach, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
