What your day could look like

As a Cook, you'll play an important role in supporting patients, residents and the wider health service through quality meal experiences. From preparing nutritious meals to helping maintain high food safety standards, you'll work with a collaborative team to deliver services that contribute to secure, compassionate care.

Every day, you'll contribute by:

- Preparing and presenting meals that meet nutrition requirements, dietary needs and quality standards.
- Helping ensure food safety, hygiene and accreditation requirements are consistently maintained.
- Supporting a positive team culture through collaboration, clear communication and shared accountability.
- Identifying opportunities to improve catering services and enhance the customer experience.

Here's what will help you thrive in this role:

- Experience preparing meals in line with established recipes, dietary requirements and quality standards.
- Strong knowledge of safe food handling practices and food safety procedures.
- Effective communication skills, teamwork and a customer-focused approach.
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and maintain high standards.





You'll stand out from the crowd if you have a Certificate III or higher qualification in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality Operations and/or experience in a healthcare, aged care or large-scale catering environment.
