LOCATION: Goldfields Hotel Motel, Tennant Creek NT

MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

· Prepare and cook hot meals and other menu items in accordance with recipes, portion standards and customer orders.

· Prepare ingredients by washing, cutting, measuring, seasoning and undertaking other mise-en-place duties.

· Operate grills, ovens, fryers, stovetops and other commercial kitchen equipment safely.

· Check food quality, temperature and presentation before meals are provided to customers.

· Assist with receiving, storing and rotating food supplies and advise senior kitchen staff when stock requires replenishment.

· Maintain clean and hygienic food-preparation, cooking and storage areas and follow food-safety procedures.

· Work with chefs, kitchenhands and bar/front-of-house staff to ensure orders are prepared accurately and promptly.





· Assist with daily specials and preparation for busy meal periods as directed.

· Clean equipment and work areas and report equipment faults or safety hazards.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications: Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (SIT30821) or equivalent, or at least three years of relevant commercial cooking experience. Food-safety handler training (SITXFSA005/SITXFSA006) is required.

Experience: Relevant commercial cooking experience in a pub, hotel, motel, restaurant or similar food-service setting.

Pay: $65,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
