About the Role
BlueFlyer are seeking suitably skilled/qualified person(s) to fill the role of Copywriting / Editor.
This is a non-ongoing contracted opportunity offered with an initial term start in mid-October through to December 2026, and an chance to extend up to a further 12-months. It requires the individual to work alongside our client - working from the client's Brindabella Park offices, and using the client's ICT systems.
The services to be delivered involve editorial services of a 70-page strategic plan (one copy edit of the final manuscript in MS Word, and two verification edits of subsequent designed PDF proofs) to a ' publication ready ' state.
A current Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance is required to enable immediate start.
Skills, Experience and Qualifications
- Excellent copywriting and editing skills - with
- Ability to interpret complex information (e.g., policy, risk, governance, analytics) and translate it into accessible written content tailored to diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated attention to detail, including grammar, formatting, and adherence to style guides, templates, and consistency of content/ambiguity.
- Experience delivering same or similar within a law enforcement, national security, or Federal Government environment is highly desirable.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with project teams and subject-matter experts on-site.
- Proficiency in common office and document tools (e.g., Microsoft Word with Tracked Changes).
- Qualifications in Communications, Journalism, English, Public Policy, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience highly regarded.
- Ability to work and deliver to deadline.
