About the Role

This is a customer-facing role that combines counter sales, customer service, administration, and business development. You will be the first point of contact for customers visiting our showroom, calling by phone, or contacting us via email.

The ideal candidate enjoys working with people, has strong communication skills, is comfortable using computers, and is eager to learn about waterproofing and construction products.

Key Responsibilities

Customer Service

- Provide outstanding service to customers at the sales counter.
- Assist customers with product selection and recommendations.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Respond to phone, email, and walk-in enquiries.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.

Sales & Business Development

- Process over-the-counter sales transactions.
- Prepare, send, and follow up customer quotations.
- Convert quotations into sales opportunities.
- Promote new products, specials, and training programs.
- Upsell complementary products and systems.
- Generate repeat business through proactive customer engagement.
- Identify opportunities to establish new trade accounts.
- Follow up inactive customers and previous enquiries.

Administration

- Create sales orders, invoices, and customer accounts.
- Process payments and account transactions.
- Maintain accurate customer records and data entry.
- Assist with stock enquiries and order tracking.
- Manage customer credit account applications.

Systems & Computer Skills

- Operate MYOB point-of-sale and accounting systems.
- Use Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Accurately enter and maintain customer information.




- Learn and operate internal business systems.

Warehouse & Team Support

- Assist customers with loading products when required.
- Work closely with warehouse staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organised showroom.
- Participate in stocktakes and inventory activities.
- Assist with receiving and checking deliveries.

Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Building supplies
- Waterproofing
- Construction materials
- Tiling supplies
- Plumbing supplies
- Hardware
- Paint or coatings
- Trade sales
- Knowledge of waterproofing systems is highly regarded but not essential.
- Ability to quickly learn technical products and systems.
- Experience dealing with builders, contractors, tradespeople, or commercial customers is advantageous.
