Melbourne Nepean Lawyers - Criminal Lawyer

About the role A Criminal Lawyer position with a small firm of criminal law specialists. Our practice has both private and legally aided matters and is briefed to appear on behalf of Victoria Legal Aid in their duty lists in Frankston and Moorabbin Magistrates' Courts. Our office is in Frankston but appearances are made in Courts all over Melbourne.

Key responsibilities

- Appear daily at Magistrates' Courts (predominantly Frankston and Moorabbin)
- Manage criminal law and intervention order files including preparing all written communications
- Be responsive to clients' needs and maintain high organisational standards

You:

- Have at least 2 years post-admission experience




- Are reliable and available to appear at all Magistrates' Courts (predominantly Frankston and Moorabbin)
- Have sound knowledge of criminal law practice and procedure
- Have solid advocacy skills
- Have excellent written communication skills
- Demonstrate excellent organisational skills, including meeting deadlines, attending to third parties and maintaining a high level of client service
- Have a can-do attitude and work ethic
- Have a Driver's licence
