Alchemy Recruitment is partnering with a local government client to support them in recruiting for multiple casual Customer Contact Officers based on the Sunshine Coast.

$38.05/hr + super | 12-month casual contract |

About the role

- First point of contact for the community across phone, face-to-face, email and online channels
- Provide accurate information across a wide range of council services
- Process customer requests and route complex enquiries to the right teams
- Deliver positive customer experiences in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Based at the Caloundra Administration Building, with work across the council’s Customer Contact locations as required

Hours and availability

- Casual, Monday to Friday, shifts generally 4 to 8 hours
- Close to full-time hours (up to 38 per week) in peak periods: January to March and July to October
- Hours may reduce outside peak periods based on operational needs
- Availability during school holidays is essential




- Must be available for a structured three-week training and onboarding program from Tuesday 17 November 2026, with full attendance required

Preferred Requirements

- Outstanding customer service and communication skills
- Experience in a contact centre, front counter or customer-facing role
- Solid computer literacy and the ability to learn multiple systems quickly
- Attention to detail and a practical approach to problem solving
- Resilience, adaptability and a calm approach with challenging customers
- A positive, team-focused attitude and genuine commitment to service

Preferred Qualifications

- Certificate III or IV in Customer Engagement, Business or similar (desirable, not essential)
- Previous local government or public sector experience (highly regarded)
