Traralgon Paints is seeking a capable and dependable person to join our team in a hands-on customer service and branch support role.

This is a practical, diverse position suited to someone who enjoys helping trade and retail customers, working as part of a close team and contributing wherever needed to keep a busy paint and coatings store operating effectively.

The role is primarily based at Traralgon and combines counter and telephone service with order preparation, tinting, warehouse assistance and occasional deliveries.

About the role

Your primary responsibility will be providing friendly, knowledgeable and reliable service to our trade and retail customers. You will also support the wider branch team by helping prepare orders, receive goods, maintain an organised workplace and ensure products are ready when customers need them.

Your responsibilities will include

- Serving trade and retail customers at the counter and by telephone.
- Responding to product, availability and order enquiries.
- Entering customer orders accurately into our business system.
- Tinting paint and preparing products for collection or delivery.
- Picking, checking and staging customer orders.
- Following up backorders and incomplete orders.
- Assisting with inward goods, stock placement and general warehouse duties.
- Supporting inter-store transfers between Traralgon and Pakenham.
- Completing occasional customer deliveries when required.
- Maintaining accurate customer, order and handover information.
- Keeping the counter, tinting area, warehouse and customer-facing areas clean, safe and organised.

Customer service is the main focus of the position. Warehouse, inward-goods and delivery tasks form part of the broader branch-support responsibility.

About you

We are looking for someone who is:




- Confident and comfortable dealing with customers.
- Dependable, organised and willing to take responsibility for completing tasks.
- Able to work effectively in a small, hands-on team.
- Comfortable moving between customer service, order preparation and warehouse duties.
- Accurate when entering orders and handling customer information.
- Physically capable of safely handling paint and associated products.
- Willing to learn about decorative, industrial, automotive and protective coatings.
- Able to communicate clearly when priorities, orders or customer requirements change.

Experience in paint, coatings, hardware, automotive, industrial supplies, building products or another trade-counter environment would be highly regarded. However, product training can be provided to a capable person with the right customer-service attitude and willingness to learn.

Licences and experience

- A current Victorian driver licence is essential.
- The ability to confidently drive a manual vehicle is preferred.
- Applicants who hold a manual licence but require a practical refresher are still encouraged to apply.
- A forklift licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Previous paint tinting, warehouse or trade-counter experience would be beneficial.

About Gippsland Paints

Gippsland Paints is an independent paint and coatings specialist operating Traralgon Paints and Pakenham Paints. We supply decorative, industrial, protective, automotive and marine coatings, together with associated equipment and consumables. Our customers range from homeowners and local trades through to industrial businesses, asset owners and specialist contractors.

We are continuing to invest in our people, systems and two-store operating structure. This appointment will help strengthen customer service at Traralgon while supporting the ongoing development of the broader business.
