In partnership with a prominent global defence organisation, Randstad Defence is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Engineer. The successful candidate will focus on strengthening cybersecurity infrastructure and delivering robust Information and Communications Technology (ICT) systems and solutions for critical defence initiatives.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Sydney with flexible working arrangements and great employee benefits.

About the Role

- Assist in designing and building secure hardware and software architectures tailored to defence specifications.
- Support the drafting of ICT security policies and procedures aligned with corporate and defence regulatory standards.
- Help prepare accreditation plans, standard operating procedures, and key documentation to secure Authority to Operate (ATO) for company-managed systems.
- Identify vulnerabilities and security threats across systems, applying necessary security patches.
- Perform or support penetration testing and comprehensive evaluation activities to validate ICT systems.
- Log risks discovered during security assessments and collaborate with cross-functional ICT team members on mitigation strategies.

About you

- Degree or relevant qualifications in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Software Engineering,



ICT Engineering, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of professional background as a Cybersecurity Engineer.
- Proven experience contributing to Australian defence and government projects.
- Robust knowledge of software engineering and systems engineering methodologies.
- Proficiency with Windows, Linux, and Android operating systems, virtual machines, network security, and scripting languages like Python for automation.
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CompTIA Security+, networking credentials, or equivalent certifications.
- Background in DevSecOps, penetration testing, and software testing is highly desirable.

The candidates must be an Australian citizen and must have a Baseline Security Clearance and above.
