The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced and passionate part-time Dance and Drama Teacher to join our vibrant Dance and Drama Department. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and high-quality Dance education to Senior Years' students, facilitate Junior Years' drama classes and the Junior Years' Annual Concert. You will support students to develop their technical skills, creativity, confidence and appreciation of dance and drama as both an art form and means of expression, and contribute to diverse co-curricular activities.

Responsibilities

- Develop and deliver engaging and innovative Dance and Drama programmes aligned with curriculum requirements.
- Teach students to develop a range of dance and drama techniques, styles and performance skills.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback to support ongoing development.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, collaboration and student participation.
- Prepare and support students for performances, productions and other Dance and Drama related events and opportunities.
- Maintain contemporary knowledge of developments in Dance and Drama education and performance.
- Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience and contribute to co-curricular activities and other College events.
- Communicate effectively with students,



families and staff regarding student progress and curriculum requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

- Appropriate teaching qualifications and eligibility for registration with TRBWA.
- Demonstrated experience teaching Dance and Drama across secondary year levels.
- Strong knowledge of contemporary Dance and Drama curriculum, techniques and performance practices.
- Experience teaching Dance and Drama across Junior and Senior years will be highly regarded.
- Proven ability to create engaging and inclusive learning environments that support student wellbeing and achievement.
- Strong practical Danceand Drama skills and the ability to support students across a range of abilities and experience levels.
- High-level interpersonal, student engagement and communication skills.
- Robust organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Experience supporting or coordinating performances, productions and co-curricular Dance and Drama activities will be well regarded.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong proficiency in the use of contemporary digital technologies to support teaching and learning.
