? APS6 Senior Data Analyst – Federal Government | Health Risk Analytics | $85–$100/hr + Super

We’re currently recruiting for an APS6 Senior Data Analyst to join the Department of Health, Disability and Ageing , supporting the Benefits Integrity Division – Risk Analytics Section .

This is a great opportunity for an experienced data professional with hands-on capability across SQL, Power BI, Python, R and/or SAS , who enjoys working with large datasets and turning complex information into meaningful insights.

? Contract: 12 months

⚡ Start: Immediate

? Location: ACT preferred; however, candidates based in NSW, VIC and QLD will also be considered

? Working arrangement: Hybrid

? Rate: $85–$100 per hour + Super

? Security Clearance: Current Australian Government Baseline clearance

About the role The successful candidate will work within the Risk Analytics Section , supporting the development and refinement of analytical models, dashboards and visualisation tools used to monitor patterns of non-compliant behaviour.

What you’ll be doing

- Analyse large and complex datasets to identify patterns, trends and anomalies

• Develop and enhance Power BI dashboards, reporting tools and visualisations

• Use SQL, Python, R and/or SAS for data extraction, transformation, analysis and validation

- Support the development and refinement of analytical models




- Perform data cleansing, reconciliation and data quality assurance
- Work with policy, compliance, program and technical stakeholders
- Prepare analytical outputs and insights for senior stakeholders
- Support the implementation of new compliance and risk analytics measures
- Document data sources, business rules, assumptions and reporting logic

What we’re looking for

• Strong experience as a Senior Data Analyst, Data Analyst, BI Analyst or Reporting Analyst

• Strong hands-on SQL experience

• Strong Power BI or Tableau capability

• Experience using Python, R or SAS

• Experience with data quality, reconciliation, profiling and validation

- Ability to work with large, sensitive or complex datasets
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Federal Government or regulated workplace experience highly regarded

• Current Baseline, NV1 or NV2 clearance
