Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Data Solution Designer to join a data transformation and engineering program in Sydney.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience across AWS data services, data engineering, solution architecture, ETL and large-scale data platforms. The role will be responsible for designing scalable data solutions, supporting data migration and working closely with engineering and technology teams to deliver robust data platforms.

Candidates with 15+ years of overall IT experience, including 6–8+ years in data engineering and architecture, will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

- Design scalable and robust data solutions and architectures for enterprise environments.
- Work hands-on with AWS data services and large-scale ETL/data processing.
- Design and implement data pipelines for large and complex datasets.
- Develop and optimise ETL/ELT processes using AWS and modern data engineering technologies.
- Support data migration and modernisation initiatives.
- Work with data engineers, architects and technical teams to translate requirements into effective data solutions.
- Ensure solutions meet requirements for performance, scalability, security and reliability.
- Develop and optimise complex SQL queries and data processing workflows.




- Contribute to CI/CD and DevSecOps practices across data engineering environments.
- Support technical documentation, solution design and implementation activities.

Strong practical experience with

- AWS Glue
- AWS Glue Data Catalog
- Apache Airflow / DAGs
- Amazon S3
- Amazon EMR
- Amazon Aurora / PostgreSQL
- Amazon Redshift
- AWS QuickSight

Data Engineering & Modern Data Platforms

- Solid ETL/ELT experience with large datasets.
- Experience with S3 Iceberg.
- Experience with dbt.
- Experience with Snowflake.
- Advanced SQL skills.
- Strong understanding of data modelling, data pipelines and data integration.

Microsoft Data Technologies

Previous experience with

- MS SSIS
- MS SSRS
- MS SSAS
- Microsoft Fabric

Migration & DevSecOps

- Proven experience with data migration and modernisation projects.
- Robust understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working within DevSecOps environments.
- Exposure to automated deployment and release management practices.

Experience Profile We are looking for candidates with:

- 8–10+ years of Data Engineering and Data Architecture experience.
- 15+ years of total IT experience preferred.
- Strong hands-on AWS data engineering experience.
- Experience working on enterprise-scale data platforms and transformation programs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work effectively with architects, developers, data engineers and business stakeholders.

Pay: $550.00 per day
