Your current role

Join a large enterprise organisation investing in its cloud, data and analytics platforms. You will work within the Infrastructure Service Delivery function, supporting a centralised data platform used across analytics, AI, reporting and data sharing.

What you'll need to succeed

As the Service Specialist - Core Data Platform, you will improve the stability, performance and supportability of a critical enterprise data environment.Combining service delivery with hands-on DevOps capability, you will work across internal platform teams and managed service providers to resolve incidents, strengthen operational processes and reduce escalations to specialist engineering teams.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing major incidents, escalations and root cause investigations
- Improving service performance, platform stability and operational maturity
- Monitoring recurring issues and driving permanent remediation
- Maintaining CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure as Code and automation
- Improving monitoring, alerting, logging and platform observability
- Providing technical oversight and assurance across MSP activities
- Challenging service providers on incident quality, ownership and performance
- Improving runbooks, support documentation and knowledge repositories
- Coaching operational teams in DevOps and support best practices
- Supporting service governance, risk management and continuous improvement





You will have a strong background in technology service delivery combined with hands-on experience in DevOps, platform engineering, SRE or cloud operations within a complex enterprise environment.

You will also bring:

- Experience managing major incidents and critical production issues
- Strong problem management, root cause analysis and service improvement skills
- Experience working with managed service providers and distributed teams
- Hands-on experience with Terraform, Ansible and CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with Jenkins, GitHub Actions and/or Azure DevOps
- Strong cloud, Linux/Windows and scripting capability
- Knowledge of monitoring, alerting and platform observability
- An understanding of ITIL-based incident, problem and change management
- Strong stakeholder management, influencing and communication skills

Exposure to Databricks, Redshift, SAS, Power BI, Tableau, Fivetran, data lakes, data warehouses or ETL/ELT platforms will be highly regarded.
