Director – Credit Risk Insurance & Underwriting

JSCareers are partnering with a leading Australian financial institution to appoint a senior underwriting professional with robust experience across credit risk insurance, credit risk transfer and complex transactions.

This is an opportunity for someone currently working within insurance, or with a substantial insurance background, who understands how to assess, structure and challenge insurance solutions around complex credit exposures.

The role will work across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, transaction teams, brokers, insurers and underwriters.

What we’re looking for

- Strong underwriting experience
- Background within an insurance business or deep insurance market experience
- Experience across credit risk insurance, credit risk transfer, trade credit, political risk or structured credit




- Strong understanding of how complex transactions are structured
- Ability to assess pricing, coverage, terms, exclusions and overall insurance structure
- Experience working with brokers, insurers and underwriting markets
- Confidence challenging external advisers and recommendations
- Strong stakeholder management across both internal and external parties
- Commercial judgement and the ability to understand the broader credit and transaction risk

This role would suit someone who enjoys combining technical underwriting expertise with commercial transaction analysis and wants greater exposure to complex, non-standard deals.
