Details: The City and Workplace Directorate (CED) is seeking an experienced and collaborative communications leader to join the Communications, Engagement and Media team as Director, Media & Channel Management. Reporting to the Senior Director, Creative Services and Media, you will lead the Directorate's media, social media, campaign and digital production functions to inform and engage the Canberra community.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of communication professionals responsible for media engagement, public-facing communication channels and integrated campaigns. You will provide strategic advice on complex and sensitive issues, oversee proactive and reactive media activities, build strong stakeholder relationships, and use insights and analytics to drive effective communication outcomes. The role works closely with executives, Ministerial offices and communication professionals across government to support organisational priorities, community awareness and reputation outcomes.





Eligibility/Other Requirements:

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, media, digital communications or a related discipline, and/or significant experience leading media, communications, digital or stakeholder engagement functions are highly desirable.
- An understanding of the ACT Government environment and contemporary communication practices is also desirable.

Note: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. The successful applicant may be required to work outside normal business hours, including evenings and weekends, to support media, issues management and emergency communication responses.
