Our client, Integrated Disability Action (IDA), is looking for a passionate Disability Advocate to stand alongside people with disability and support them to overcome barriers, navigate complex systems and achieve the outcomes that matter most to them.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Disability Advocate, you'll work directly with people with disability, their families and carers, providing individual advocacy, guidance and practical support.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide individual advocacy, support and information to people with disability
- Assist clients to understand and exercise their rights
- Support individuals to navigate the NDIS, services and government systems
- Advocate for fair, inclusive and person-centred outcomes
- Liaise with families, carers, service providers and government agencies
- Build clients' confidence and self-advocacy skills
- Maintain accurate case files, reports and advocacy records
- Identify systemic barriers impacting people with disability
- Contribute to community awareness and advocacy initiatives
- Promote inclusion, independence and choice for people with disability

About You You'll be somebody who genuinely cares about helping others and believes everyone deserves equal access, opportunity and choice.

Essential Requirements

- Qualification in Community Services, Disability, Human Services, Social Work or equivalent experience
- Experience in disability, advocacy, community services or a related field
- Strong understanding of disability rights and person-centred practice
- Knowledge of the NDIS and broader disability sector
- Excellent communication, advocacy and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage sensitive and complex matters professionally
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Current NT Ochre Card (or ability to obtain)

- National Criminal History Check

- Current Driver's Licence
- Ability to travel within the Northern Territory, including regional and remote communities when required
