Disability Support Workers – Complex Supports | South West Sydney

Casual | Regular Morning & Afternoon Shifts | Weekends & Respite Lime Rainbow is looking for some exceptional Disability Support Workers to join the support team of a teenage participant in the Canley Vale / South West Sydney area.

This isn’t a role where we’re simply looking to fill shifts.

We’re looking for the right people - experienced, confident and consistent support workers who can build a genuine relationship with a young person, understand his communication and regulation needs, and provide calm, protected support when things become challenging.

The regular shifts

We are currently building a consistent team to support:

- Mornings: approximately 7:00am – 9:00am
- Afternoons: approximately 3:00pm – 6:00pm
- Weekend supports (times negotiable)
- Regular planned respite/STA stays and associated supports
- Additional casual shifts may also be available across Lime Rainbow

Consistency is particularly important, so we are looking for people who can commit to regular ongoing shifts, rather than workers looking for occasional availability only.

Who we’re looking for

This role will suit someone who is:

- Experienced in complex and high-intensity disability support
- Confident supporting behaviours of concern and following a Behaviour Support Plan
- Calm and emotionally regulated when a participant is distressed or escalating
- Physically capable of safely providing active support to a teenage participant, including personal care, community access and responding to safety risks
- Comfortable working within 1:1 and 2:1 support arrangements
- Experienced with non-speaking participants and/or AAC
- Confident supporting sensory regulation and transitions
- Able to maintain clear boundaries while still being warm, engaging and fun
- Reliable and consistent - relationship and familiarity are incredibly important for this participant
- Comfortable supporting personal care
- Willing to undertake participant-specific training,



including Behaviour Support Plan and relevant health/safety training

Pasifika cultural knowledge, experience or robust cultural awareness would be highly regarded, particularly where this supports connection and culturally responsive practice. However, we warmly welcome applications from people of all cultural backgrounds who feel they are the right fit.

Key responsibilities

You will provide individualised support including personal care, mealtime assistance, communication support, sensory and emotional regulation, community access and daily routines. You will also support protected transitions between home, school, therapy and community environments; implement Positive Behaviour Support strategies; follow authorised and least-restrictive practices; accurately complete progress notes, incident reports and required data; and communicate closely with the participant's family, Behaviour Support Practitioner and wider support team.

Essential requirements

Applicants will need appropriate Disability Support Worker qualifications and/or demonstrated relevant experience, along with current NDIS Worker Screening Check, Working With Children Check, First Aid/CPR, unrestricted Australian driver's licence and appropriate working rights. Experience supporting complex behaviours, epilepsy/seizure management, intellectual disability, non-speaking communication or high-intensity participants will be highly regarded.
