We’re looking for female Disability Support Workers to support an adult woman with Down syndrome who lives with her family in Mt Nebo.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building genuine connections and supporting a person to get out into the community, develop greater independence and work towards their goals.

An important longer-term goal for this participant is to eventually transition from the family home into her own Supported Independent Living (SIL) home. We’d love to find support workers who can build a strong and consistent relationship with her now and, where possible, continue supporting her through that journey.

About the Participant

You’ll be supporting an active woman who enjoys getting out and about, including dancing, health and fitness activities and exploring her creative interests.

She requires support with personal care, daily routines and community participation, with a focus on building confidence, skills and independence.

Consistency is significant to both the participant and her family, so we’re looking for people who are patient, dependable and genuinely enjoy getting to know the person they support.

Available Shifts The ongoing roster is currently being finalised, with a mix of weekday, weekend and sleepover shifts expected to be available.

We’re particularly interested in people looking for regular, ongoing work and the opportunity to build a longer-term relationship with the participant.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll provide person-centred support in accordance with the participant’s support plan, including:

- Community access, activities and social participation

- Supporting recreational activities,



interests and outings

- Assistance with shopping and appointments

- Personal care as required

- Supporting daily routines, choice and independence

- Domestic assistance and household tasks where required

- Supporting the development of everyday living skills

- Completing accurate documentation and shift notes

- Building a positive and respectful relationship with the participant and her family

About You The right person for this role understands that great support isn’t just about completing tasks. It’s about being dependable, building trust and helping someone live the life they choose.

- Able to work independently while being part of a broader team

- Passionate about supporting people with disability

- Committed to promoting choice, dignity and independence

Essential Requirements

- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (Yellow Card)

- Current First Aid and CPR

- Current Australian Driver Licence

- Reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle

- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia

- Ability to complete required training prior to commencing employment
