The Opportunity

Carey Baptist College (Harrisdale Campus) is seeking a passionate a cooperative educator to join our Humanities Department from 1 January 2027. This position is Full Time position but we would consider a Part Time candidate.

In this role, you will work alongside an established team to deliver high-quality Humanities programs. This is an exciting opportunity to help students develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to navigate an increasingly complex world.

You'll join a collaborative Secondary team that is committed to educational excellence, meaningful relationships and creating engaging learning experiences that prepare students for life beyond school.

Key Responsibilities

As our Economics and Business Teacher, you will:

- Deliver engaging and contemporary high-quality Humanities programs that inspire curiosity and deepen understanding.
- Commit to evidence-informed practices, using clear learning intentions, attainable goals, structured routines and scaffolding to guide students.
- Provide timely feedback that helps students grow in confidence and achieve their personal best.
- Build positive relationships with students, encouraging them to become resilient, responsible and reflective learners.
- Participate regularly in Christian worship and staff devotions, upholding the College’s Christian ethos in all skilled interactions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to continually strengthen curriculum, assessment and teaching practice..

About You





- You thrive in a team environment and enjoy planning and collaborating with fellow Humanities colleagues.
- You possess a strong background in economics, business, finance, or accounting.
- VET competencies for the Certificate courses are an advantage
- An active Christian faith (if possible please include a reference from your pastor)
- Working expertise with ATAR and VET pathways
- Strong team building and organisational capacity
- A willingness to go the extra mile to achieve excellence
