We are looking for an experienced Electrical & Controls Business Development Manager / Estimator to join our Perth team and help drive the next stage of our growth.

About the Role

This is a hands-on role combining business development, estimating and client relationship management across both our Electrical and Controls operations.

You will work with existing and prospective clients to identify opportunities, understand their technical requirements, develop solutions and convert opportunities into successful projects.

This isn't a pure sales role. We are looking for someone who can build strong relationships while also getting into the detail — reviewing drawings and specifications, developing estimates, preparing tenders and working with our operational teams to put forward practical and competitive solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop new business opportunities across Mechanical Electrical and Automation Controls
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, builders, contractors and industry partners
- Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through estimating, tender, negotiation and award
- Review electrical, mechanical and controls drawings,



specifications and scopes of work
- Prepare detailed project estimates covering labour, materials, equipment and subcontractors
- Complete quantity take-offs and develop competitive project pricing
- Prepare quotations, tenders and bid submissions
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor pricing
- Identify value engineering, alternative design and cost-saving opportunities
- Attend client meetings, site inspections and tender briefings
- Maintain visibility of upcoming projects and develop a strong sales and tender pipeline
- Work closely with our Estimating, Project, Engineering, Service and Management teams
- Assist with the handover of successfully secured projects to the delivery team
- Support minor works and project delivery where required
- Monitor market activity, upcoming opportunities and competitor positioning

About You We are looking for someone with a strong electrical and/or Automation Controls background who understands how projects are won, priced and successfully handed over for delivery.

Ideally, you will have:

- Experience in Business Development, Estimating or a combined BDM/Estimator role
- Experience within Mechanical Electrical, BMS, HVAC Controls, Building Automation or a related industry




- Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications and scopes of work
- Experience preparing estimates, quotations and tender submissions
- Good understanding of labour, material, equipment and subcontractor costing
- Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project margins
- Strong communication and client relationship skills
- Ability to identify opportunities and develop them into secured work
- Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tenders and opportunities
- A proactive approach and the ability to work autonomously
- Current Australian driver's licence

An electrical trade, engineering, estimating or building services background would be highly regarded.
