Role Description This is a full-time, workshop based position in Gosford. The position involves assembling and wiring commercial and industrial switchboards according to drawings, specifications, and relevant standards. Day-to-day tasks include reading and interpreting electrical schematics, preparing and mounting components, carrying out busbar work, and performing quality checks and testing prior to installation.

The role also requires safe use of hand and power tools, adherence to WHS requirements, accurate documentation of work, and close collaboration with supervisors, electricians, and other team members to meet project deadlines.

Builder contributes to continuous improvement by identifying design or process issues and providing practical feedback to enhance safety, efficiency, and product quality.

Qualifications

- Experience in electrical switchboard assembly, including component mounting, wiring, and termination within commercial or industrial environments.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documentation with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in the safe use of hand and power tools, basic metalwork (e.g., drilling, cutting, and fitting), and working with copper/busbar systems.
- Sound understanding of relevant electrical standards, safety regulations, and WHS practices applicable to switchboard construction.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify faults, perform basic testing, and work methodically to meet project deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully in a workshop environment and follow instructions clearly.
- Demonstrated reliability, willingness to learn, and commitment to quality workmanship; experience in modular or prefabricated systems is an advantage.
