Electrical / Telecommunications Trades Assistant –

Position: Electrical or Telecommunications Trades Assistant Location: Western Australia (DAMA Region) Employment Type: Full‑time, ongoing Salary Range: $55,000 – $80,000 per annum (Visa Pathway: WA DAMA Labour Agreement – Subclass 482 ANZSCO: 899914 (Electrical TA) / 899915 (Telecommunications TA)

Key Duties

- Assisting licensed tradespersons — support electricians/technicians with installation, maintenance, and repair tasks
- Cable installation — pull, lay, terminate, and secure electrical or data cabling under supervision
- Equipment setup — prepare tools, materials, ladders, testing devices, and work areas
- Site preparation — assist with drilling, mounting, fixing brackets, conduits, trays, and enclosures
- Testing assistance — support licensed tradespersons with basic continuity tests, tagging, and safety checks
- Fault‑finding support — help identify issues by preparing equipment, documenting faults, and following instructions
- Telecommunications support — assist with NBN, fibre, copper, wireless,



and structured cabling installations
- Material handling — load/unload materials, organise stock, and maintain tool inventory
- Safety compliance — follow WHS procedures, PPE requirements, lock‑out/tag‑out instructions, and site safety rules
- Documentation — complete basic job sheets, material logs, and installation records
- General labouring — cleaning work areas, removing debris, and supporting tradespersons as required

Required Qualifications & Experience

- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience assisting electricians or telecommunications technicians
- Basic understanding of electrical or data cabling systems
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment
- White Card (mandatory)
- EWP, Working at Heights, or First Aid (advantageous)
- Strong physical fitness and ability to work in varied environments
- Positive communication and teamwork skills

Pay: $55,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
