Coex Training is seeking an experienced Electrical Trainer and Assessor to join our team and deliver specialist electrotechnology and post-trade electrical training programs.

Coex Training (RTO #41119) is a national Registered Training Organisation specialising in electrotechnology and post-trade electrical training, with particular depth in Instrumentation, High Voltage Switching Operations alongside Hazardous Area, and broader electrical programs. We partner with major employers across the mining, energy, infrastructure and manufacturing sectors, working closely with our clients to understand their goals, challenges and workforce needs so we can build stronger, safer, and more skilled teams.

About the Role

Based at our Osborne Park training facility, this full time role also includes opportunities to deliver training in WA regional areas and at client sites where required, with possible interstate travel on occasion.

You will deliver and assess practical, industry-focused training programs for electrical workers, supervisors, engineers, technicians, contractors, and industry personnel across a range of specialist areas, such as (experience dependant):

- Instrumentation and Control units
- Certificate IV in Instrumentation and Control
- High Voltage Switching Operations
- Electrical Equipment for Hazardous Areas
- WA Electrical Contractors Course, Electrical Nominee Component
- Electrical Incident Investigation
- Electrical Worker Competency Training
- Customised technical training programs for industry clients

The role involves supporting learners to develop safe, compliant, and technically sound work practices across post-trade electrical environments. Your main duties will include: • Provide quality and compliant training and assessing through class, workplace and one on one mentoring to your nominated cohorts





• Ensure students are exposed and participate in practicals/simulations individually

• Achieving marking targets

• Preparation of classes, units of competency including resources and session plans

• Provide student feedback and strategies for continuous improvement

• Participate in student intervention/progression and re-engage disengaged students

• Reporting ‘AT RISK’ students to Team Leader/General Manager

• Provide quality and transparent communication to students, colleagues, Team Leader and Management

• Develop, maintain and implement materials, inventory and learner resources

• Participate in maintaining a positive and engaging training space

About You

This role is suited to electrical professionals who have strong technical knowledge, practical industry experience, and a genuine interest in developing others. You may come from an engineering, supervisory, commissioning, maintenance, operations, compliance, Instrumentation, High Voltage, or Hazardous Area background. We are looking for professionals who are technically competent, safety-focused, and motivated to share their knowledge with others.

You may have expertise in one or more of the following areas:

- Competency assessment, mentoring or technical leadership
- Electrical engineering, design, compliance or technical support
- Instrumentation and control systems
- High voltage switching, isolation, access permits and switching programs




- Hazardous areas installation, inspection, design, verification or compliance
- Electrical safety, statutory compliance or operational risk management
- Industrial, mining, utilities, infrastructure, manufacturing or defence environments
- Electrical trade work, supervision, maintenance or commissioning

To be successful, you will also need to possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:

- Current or previous (open or restricted) electrical licence
- Post-trade electrical or post higher education electrical engineering industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or similar qualification
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, or willingness to complete it
- At least one year of experience delivering or assessing nationally recognised training
- Electrical supervisory, nominee, engineering, commissioning or technical compliance experience
- Ability to explain technical concepts clearly and practically
- Strong communication, mentoring and presentation skills
