About the role

You will work on a range of power infrastructure projects as part of a team focused on safety and quality. Duties will be matched to your qualifications, licences, demonstrated competencies and applicable network authorisations, and may include constructing, maintaining and repairing underground HV and LV distribution assets, completing cable jointing and terminations, completing HV terminations on switchgear, transformers and associated equipment, undertaking pillar installations, service connections and LV network construction, installing and maintaining earthing systems and earth grids, locating and repairing underground cable faults, conducting cable testing and assisting with commissioning, undertaking electrical installation and maintenance work where appropriately licensed and authorised, reading drawings and network plans, and completing construction, quality and testing documentation, and working in accordance with client and network requirements, applicable Australian Standards and GCO Australia safety procedures.

Key responsibilities

- Constructing, maintaining and repairing underground HV and LV distribution assets
- Completing cable jointing and terminations, including XLPE cable systems
- Completing HV terminations on switchgear, transformers and associated equipment
- Undertaking pillar installations, service connections and LV network construction
- Installing and maintaining earthing systems and earth grids
- Locating and repairing underground cable faults, conducting cable testing and assisting with commissioning
- Undertaking electrical installation and maintenance work where appropriately licensed and authorised




- Reading drawings and network plans, and completing construction, quality and testing documentation
- Working in accordance with client and network requirements, applicable Australian Standards and GCO Australia safety procedures

About you

- Demonstrated hands-on cable jointing and termination experience relevant to the role
- Experience in utility or distribution network environments and a strong understanding of protected work practices
- Current driver's licence valid in WA and a Construction White Card
- Ability to work effectively within a crew and independently within your authorised scope
- Reliability, attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality work
- Current WA Electrical Workers Licence appropriate to the role or Certificate III in ESI – Power Systems Distribution Cable Jointing, or relevant equivalent qualification
- Relevant current HV and LV network jointing authorisations (highly regarded)
- Experience with XLPE joints and terminations (highly regarded)
- Substation construction, maintenance and commissioning experience (highly regarded)
- Relevant High Risk Work Licence and current First Aid and CPR accreditation (highly regarded)
