Stedmans Construction & Engineering is an established Indigenous-owned construction business delivering residential, commercial and maintenance projects throughout remote Northern Territory communities.

With several exciting projects now underway in Maningrida—including multiple new house builds and a major commercial construction project—we are expanding our team and seeking:

- Qualified Electrician
- Qualified Carpenter
- Experienced Labourers / Trade Assistants

This is an excellent opportunity to secure ongoing work across substantial construction projects, with plenty of variety and the chance to be part of a capable, hands-on team.

About the Roles

Depending on your trade and experience, work may include:

- Construction of new residential homes
- Major commercial construction works
- Electrical installation, rough-in, fit-off and testing
- General carpentry and structural works
- Concreting and formwork
- Roofing and cladding
- Internal and external fit-out
- Repairs, upgrades and maintenance
- Demolition and site preparation
- Operating machinery and equipment
- Assisting trades and keeping works progressing on site

What We are Looking For

Electrician

- Current electrical trade qualification and licence
- Experience across residential and commercial construction
- Ability to complete installations, testing and fault-finding
- Strong understanding of electrical safety and compliance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Carpenter

- Trade qualification in Carpentry
- Experience in new residential or commercial construction
- Strong practical and problem-solving skills




- Ability to work independently and maintain a high standard of workmanship

Experienced Labourers / Trade Assistants

- Previous construction, building or maintenance experience
- Confident using hand and power tools
- Physically fit and prepared for hands-on work
- Able to follow instructions and assist multiple trades
- Willingness to learn and take on varied duties

- Good communicators with practical common sense
- Committed to producing quality work

Mandatory Requirements

- Current Driver’s Licence
- Construction White Card
- Relevant trade qualifications and licences for trade roles to work in the Northern Territory
- Ability to pass drug and alcohol screening

Working at Heights, EWP and machinery tickets are highly regarded but not essential.
