Programmed Energy & Resources are seeking highly experienced rail electricians who would be responsible for ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of Ore Cars and Ancillary Rollingstock. You will focus on electrical brake systems and associated electrical systems on fixed plant, ensuring that statutory obligations, safety standards, and operational targets are met.

About The Role

- Carry out fault finding, diagnostics, and breakdown repairs on electrical systems, particularly braking systems on ore cars and related fixed plant.
- Perform preventative maintenance on all electrical equipment and control systems to ensure reliability, reduce downtime, and manage wear and tear.
- Conduct regular statutory inspections, testing, and compliance audits (e.g. insulation resistance tests, earth leakage, functional testing) to meet legislative and internal safety standards.
- Raise and manage work orders, maintenance notifications, and logs, document repairs, and maintain accurate records of hours, parts used, and test results.
- Identify continuous improvement opportunities through data analysis, trend monitoring, and feedback from operators; propose and implement improvements in reliability, safety, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with mechanical, instrumentation, and operations teams to ensure integrated maintenance work, safe handovers, and correct alignment of electrical and mechanical systems.
- Assist in commissioning, modifications, and installation of new equipment or upgrades (e.g. control panels, safety interlocks, braking system enhancements).
- Maintain tools, test equipment, and workshop cleanliness; ensure all equipment is calibrated, safe, and fit for purpose.




- Follow and continuously promote safety, environmental, and quality standards; participate in toolbox talks, hazard identification, risk assessments, job safety analyses (JSAs) and incident investigations.
- Be available for shift handovers, assist with knowledge transfer and mentoring of less experienced electricians as required.

Role Requirements

- Trade qualification - Electrical
- WA 'A' Class electrical workers licence
- HRWL - Dogging & EWP
- First Aid - CPR, LVR, First Aid
- Experience in heavy industry or mining - desirable
- Solid problem-solving and diagnostic skills, with attention to detail
- Safety conscious, with a proactive approach to risk management
- Good communication skills - able to liaise with other trade groups, supervisors and operators
- Self-motivated, able to work under minimal supervision during night or shift work
- Flexible, resilient, and adaptable to changing priorities or operational demands
