We’re growing quickly and looking for a commercially minded, relationship-driven Associate to join our team. Whether you’re early in your career or already working in markets, energy or commodities, this is an opportunity to build skills and expertise in one of the world’s most dynamic trading environments.

This is a highly collaborative, client-facing role where no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with our clients - traders, analysts, retailers, banks and financial institutions, while learning directly from experienced market professionals in a fast-moving but supportive environment. This is an opportunity to work at the centre of Australia’s energy transition, helping energy industry participants navigate the shift towards a more renewable, dynamic and data-driven electricity market.

As an Energy Trading & Markets Associate, you will:

- Support clients in pricing, negotiating and executing electricity derivative instruments including OTC TOD swaps, caps and floors




- Build and maintain robust relationships with market participants across energy, commodities and financial markets
- Monitor live market activity and provide clients with timely market updates and trading insights
- Work alongside senior brokers to develop trading, negotiation and market analysis skills
- Contribute to a growing business at the intersection of energy transition, technology and financial markets

Reporting line: Operations Manager

Location: Brisbane - hybrid (office + some WFH)

Key Responsibilities

Client Execution & Service

- Build quality relationships with our clients
- Assist clients with pricing, trade execution and market activity
- Deliver responsive, high-quality client service in a fast-paced environment
- Maintain accurate trade capture and support post-trade processes
- Verify bilateral credit approvals and ensure timely, accurate trade capture and confirmation

Order Book & Market Oversight
- Monitor the live order book, identify crossing opportunities and support efficient price discovery
- Flag irregular activity and escalate where required in line with market rules

Market Analysis & Insight
- Track spot prices, forward curves and key market drivers (weather, demand, outages, renewables)




- Contribute to concise daily and weekly market commentary for internal and client distribution

Compliance & Risk Support
- Operate in accordance with market rules and regulatory requirements
- Support market surveillance, record-keeping and audit processes in conjunction with Compliance

About You

We’re looking for someone who is curious, commercially minded and enjoys working with people.

You may come from sales, energy, commodities, finance, trading, operations or analytical backgrounds — or you may simply have an interest in markets and a willingness to learn.

You’ll bring:

Experience that’s helpful but not essential:

- Exposure to energy, commodities or financial markets
- RG146 Tier 1 – Financial Markets
- Excel or data analysis skills
- Understanding of the NEM electricity market
