Lead the establishment of a nationally significant Defence systems integration capability with Defence Consultancy in ACT

Your new company A key Defence organisation is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to support the delivery of complex capability integration initiatives within the land domain. Working within a specialist engineering and integration setting, you will contribute to projects that enhance interoperability, systems integration and technical assurance across Defence capability programs. This is an opportunity to work alongside senior Defence stakeholders, engineers and industry partners on strategically important initiatives that support future capability outcomes.

Your new role

This role will lead the planning, coordination and delivery management activities associated with the establishment of a new technical standards and integration office supporting Defence capability projects. You will work closely with engineering teams, Defence stakeholders and industry partners to ensure project objectives, governance requirements and technical outcomes are achieved.

Your responsibilities will include

- Develop and maintain project management plans, schedules, risk registers and stakeholder engagement strategies
- Coordinate engineering, integration, assurance, verification and validation activities across project workstreams
- Manage project budgets, resources, dependencies and governance reporting requirements
- Facilitate engineering reviews, technical governance forums and milestone delivery activities
- Coordinate engagement with Defence capability projects, industry partners and external stakeholders
- Support engineering assurance, standards implementation and technical governance outcomes




- Oversee prototyping, testing and evaluation activities to support capability integration objectives

What you’ll need to succeed You will be a highly experienced project professional with a strong background delivering complex engineering, ICT, systems integration or Defence capability projects.

- A Master's degree in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, MBA or a closely related discipline
- A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or equivalent technical field
- Professional project management accreditation such as PMP, CPPM, CPPP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, MSP Practitioner or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering, systems integration, ICT, C4I or Defence capability projects
- Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage across Defence, government and industry environments
- Minimum NV1 AGSVA Security Clearance
- Highly desirable experience within Defence systems integration, interoperability, verification and validation, standards implementation or capability assurance programs
