Profectus is seeking an experienced Engineering Project Manager to join our team in a permanent role, working on a major project within an Australian Government agency. You will manage the planning, governance and delivery of a recent technical standards office, working with a Systems Engineer, internal project teams and industry partners to implement a technical data standard across the agency's projects. The work covers project planning, schedule and risk management, budget and resource management, coordination of engineering and test activities, and stakeholder and governance reporting.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain the project management plan, including the work breakdown structure, schedule, risk and stakeholder management
- Identify and manage project risks, escalating issues that may affect schedules or business outcomes
- Coordinate engineering, integration, assurance and verification activities delivered by the project team
- Manage delivery schedules, dependencies and risks across engineering activities
- Plan, coordinate and track engineering reviews, technical governance forums and project milestones
- Coordinate reporting on technical risks, engineering issues and integration activities
- Support the Systems Engineer in delivering engineering assurance and standards implementation outcomes
- Coordinate engagement with internal project teams, industry partners and external stakeholders
- Manage project budget, schedule, resources and governance reporting
- Coordinate prototyping activities and associated test and evaluation events

Required Experience
- Master Degree (or higher) in Project Management, Program Management, Engineering Management, Business Administration (MBA), Management Studies or a closely related discipline
- Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Computer Science, Systems Science or an equivalent technical discipline
- Current professional project management accreditation such as PMP, CPPM, CPPP, PRINCE2 or MSP, or immediate eligibility to obtain one




- Minimum of 15 years of industry experience in engineering or project management, preferably in ICT environments
- Demonstrated experience managing complex engineering, systems integration or ICT capability projects
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, risks and governance reporting
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across government, contractor and industry audiences

Desirable Experience
- Advanced project management accreditation through AIPM, PMI, PRINCE2, MSP, MoP or an equivalent professional body
- Experience managing systems integration, interoperability, standards implementation, architecture, verification and validation or assurance projects
- Experience delivering projects under a Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) or equivalent engineering governance arrangements
- Experience with open architectures, interoperability standards, sensor systems, communications networks or software-enabled systems
- Knowledge of PMBOK and Agile delivery methods
- Experience providing advice to senior government and industry stakeholders
- Experience leading small multidisciplinary teams of government staff, contractors and industry partners across multiple locations
- Membership of Engineers Australia, AIPM, PMI or an equivalent professional body
- Familiarity with ICT and cyber security accreditation processes
- Experience with Australian Government procurement, approvals and investment governance processes

Security Clearance Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must have a current AGSVA NV1 Security Clearance
- Current AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance is preferred
