We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join a large metropolitan local government organisation on a temporary full-time contract. This is a fantastic prospect to work across a diverse range of environmental health programs while contributing to the wellbeing of the local community.

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be responsible for delivering environmental health programs and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Key responsibilities include:

- Conducting inspections of food premises, skin penetration businesses, cooling towers and on-site sewage systems.
- Investigating pollution, public health and environmental incidents.
- Assessing environmental health matters relating to development applications.
- Providing advice and education to businesses, residents and stakeholders.
- Preparing reports, correspondence and regulatory documentation.
- Supporting environmental sustainability initiatives and community education programs.

About You





- Degree qualifications in Environmental Health or a related discipline.
- Current NSW Class C Driver's Licence.
- Experience within environmental health, public health or local government.
- Strong communication, investigation and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities while delivering excellent customer service.
- Sound knowledge of relevant environmental and public health legislation.
