Shape the Future of Financial Crime Risk Management

Australia's AML/CTF reforms are transforming how organisations identify, assess and manage financial crime risk. We are seeking an experienced financial crime professional to help evolve and future-proof a leading Financial Crime Risk Assessment capability, ensuring it continues to deliver meaningful risk insights, strong governance outcomes and scalable support within an increasingly complex regulatory environment.

Partnering with stakeholders across Financial Crime, Risk, Legal, Technology and the Business, you will play a key role in enhancing methodologies, governance, reporting and strategic capability uplift initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

- Enhance Financial Crime Risk Assessment frameworks, methodologies and governance practices.
- Drive initiatives that improve consistency, scalability and effectiveness across risk assessments.
- Support AML/CTF reform implementation, including evolving ML/TF/PF risk assessment approaches.
- Partner with stakeholders to strengthen assessment quality and governance outcomes.
- Deliver meaningful risk insights and executive reporting to support decision-making.
- Identify opportunities to streamline and modernise assessment processes and operating models.
- Contribute to future-state capability development across data, analytics, workflow and assessment tooling.
- Support governance activities, audit readiness and regulatory engagement.

Skills & Experience

Essential





- Significant experience in Financial Crime Risk, AML/CTF Compliance, Risk Assessments, Risk Frameworks or Financial Crime Policy.
- Strong understanding of financial crime risk assessment methodologies and regulatory expectations.
- Experience delivering regulatory change, risk transformation or governance uplift initiatives.
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders across complex organisations.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex issues into practical business outcomes.
- Strategic mindset combined with a pragmatic and delivery-focused approach.

Highly Regarded
- Experience within Institutional Banking, Institutional Products and Institutional Entities.
- Exposure to financial crime risks across corporate banking, transaction banking, markets, treasury, trade finance, correspondent banking and custody services.
- Experience conducting risk assessments across complex products, customer segments and legal entities.
- Background within banking, wealth management or broader financial services organisations.
- Experience supporting AML/CTF reform programs and enterprise-wide financial crime initiatives.
