What you'll do

As the Experience and Insights Specialist with the Queensland Innovation Living Lab (QuILL), you will lead the design and delivery of evaluation, co-design and stakeholder engagement activities that support innovation and service improvement initiatives across Queensland Health. You will provide expert advice on evaluation methodologies, including simulation, usability testing and mixed-method approaches, while developing and overseeing evaluation plans that meet governance, quality and project requirements. Working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, researchers, academics, operational staff and industry partners, you will translate insights and evaluation findings into practical, evidence-based recommendations that enhance safety, usability, efficiency and workforce and patient outcomes.

You will also contribute to the continuous improvement of QuILL frameworks, processes and service models, prepare high-quality reports and presentations for executive stakeholders, and build strong partnerships across Queensland Health, universities, research institutes, government agencies and innovation partners.

About you

We are searching for someone who has:

- Proven ability to provide strategic direction and oversight of new and complex healthcare initiatives and programs.
- Experience in leading translational simulation and applying iterative, evidence-generating methodologies (e.g. rapid-cycle testing, PDSA, design sprints, usability evaluation cycles) to compress the time between identifying a problem and generating actionable evidence, ideally within a clinical or regulated environment where outputs must remain methodologically rigorous and publishable.
- Working knowledge of established evaluation and implementation science frameworks (e.g. IEC 62366 usability engineering, RE-AIM, CFIR/PRISM, NASSS)



and their application to healthcare technology and service evaluation.
- Experience in leading the development and application of evaluation and monitoring frameworks, and benefits realisation approaches to support impact and value.
- Experience in facilitating best practice partnerships and participatory engagement models with the workforce and consumers to achieve set outcomes.
