Take ownership of estimating for a rapidly growing remedial construction business

WS Remedial Group is seeking an Experienced Estimator to join our team and play a key role in securing and shaping projects across Queensland.

We specialise in remedial building works, waterproofing, concrete repairs, structural strengthening, façade remediation, roofing and protective coatings across the commercial, industrial, government and strata sectors.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming work, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimator who can take ownership of complex tenders, influence commercial outcomes and support the continued growth of the business.

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Team, you will be responsible for preparing accurate, competitive and commercially sound estimates across a diverse range of remedial and commercial construction projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers, operational leaders, clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors to develop competitive tender submissions and position projects for successful delivery.

The role is primarily based at our Kallangur office. Travel throughout South East Queensland and occasional travel outside the region may be required for site inspections, tender briefings and client meetings.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare detailed estimates, tenders and commercial submissions.
- Review drawings, specifications, schedules and scope documentation.
- Develop accurate scopes of work, bills of quantities, cost plans and pricing schedules.
- Conduct site inspections and assess access, methodology, staging and project constraints.
- Identify tender risks, opportunities, exclusions, assumptions and potential cost-saving options.
- Obtain, evaluate and negotiate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Develop construction methodologies and tender programs in consultation with the delivery team.
- Maintain current knowledge of labour, material, plant and subcontractor costs.
- Prepare tender clarifications, qualifications and supporting documentation.




- Participate in tender reviews, negotiations and post-tender interviews.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
- Support business development by identifying project opportunities and strengthening client relationships.
- Maintain accurate estimating records, cost databases and tender registers.
- Provide clear and comprehensive project handovers to the delivery team.
- Review completed projects and use actual costs to improve future estimating accuracy.
- Support and mentor junior estimating staff as the team continues to grow.

About You You are a commercially focused estimator who can manage multiple tenders, communicate confidently with stakeholders and produce accurate submissions within required deadlines.

You will ideally have:

- At least five years’ estimating experience within commercial, remedial, civil or specialist construction.
- Demonstrated experience managing tenders from initial review through to submission and negotiation.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing and costing principles.
- The ability to interpret drawings, specifications, contracts and technical documentation.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and manage project risks.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time-management skills.
- Strong written communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
- Confidence working independently while collaborating with operational and project teams.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience using estimating, take-off or construction-management software.




- A current Australian Driver Licence and willingness to attend project sites when required.
- Full Australian working rights.

Highly Regarded

- Experience in remedial construction, waterproofing, concrete repair, structural strengthening, façade remediation, roofing or protective coatings.
- A trade background or tertiary qualification in construction management, quantity surveying, engineering or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of the National Construction Code and relevant Australian Standards.
- Experience estimating government, commercial, industrial or strata projects.
- Previous experience using Simpro or similar construction-management software.
- Existing relationships with consultants, subcontractors and suppliers across South East Queensland.
- Experience mentoring or supporting other estimators.
