DRC Hobart is seeking experienced formworkers and qualified carpenters who can confidently read plans, set out work and lead small crews. These are hands-on positions for capable tradespeople who take pride in their workmanship and can deliver work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision.

Qualified carpenters looking for a change into formwork and concrete construction are encouraged to apply. Strong construction experience, accurate set-out skills and the ability to organise work are essential.

About the role

Working alongside our site and project teams, you will:
- Read and interpret architectural plans, structural drawings and specifications.
- Accurately set out formwork, checking dimensions, levels and alignment.
- Construct, install and strip formwork for slabs, slab edges, footings and associated concrete works.
- Lead small crews, allocate daily tasks and monitor workmanship and progress.
- Plan labour,



tools and materials to keep work moving and meet project deadlines.
- Coordinate with site supervisors, concreters and other trades.
- Identify drawing discrepancies or site issues and resolve them with the appropriate supervisor before proceeding.
- Maintain safe work practices and complete work to the required quality standards.

What you’ll bring

• Demonstrated experience in formwork, or a carpentry qualification supported by substantial practical site experience.

- The ability to read construction drawings and work accurately from plans.
- Proven set-out skills and confidence checking levels.
- Experience leading a small crew and organising day-to-day site activities.
- The ability to work independently, solve practical problems and communicate clearly.
- A reliable, professional approach and a robust commitment to safety and workmanship.
- A current White Card and driver’s licence.

Experience with pod slabs, raft slabs, multi-unit developments or commercial concrete projects will be highly regarded.

These positions require established trade skills and relevant construction experience. They are not entry-level or general labouring roles.
