Your Clinical Role

You'll initially join us as an experienced Psychologist, providing psychological intervention and/or assessment according to your experience and areas of interest.

Our clinician diaries operate within our Burnout Prevention Caseload Model.

That means we actively consider more than whether there is an empty appointment in your calendar.

We monitor caseload mix and complexity, don't schedule clients outside your agreed working hours, support planned leave and recognise that sustainable clinical practice requires time for the work that happens around the client appointment too.

We also value clinician autonomy.





You won't be expected to practise exactly like the psychologist sitting next to you. We want clinicians to develop areas of interest, bring their professional strengths to the team and continue growing throughout their career.

Then, There’s Where This Role Could Go

If you’ve pictured yourself stepping into Clinical Team Leadership, but haven’t yet had the right opportunity… this could be it!

For the right person, there is a genuine opportunity to progress into our Clinical Lead role.

We’re intentionally looking for an experienced clinician who could, after establishing themselves within CQ Psych Services, progress into a position supporting and developing our clinical team alongside our Director and Practice Manager.

You’ll have the opportunity to first get to know our team, systems and approach to care, while we get to know your strengths, interests and leadership style. From there, we can work together to build a structured transition into clinical leadership and in-house supervision that feels right for both you and the team.

The pathway may progressively include:

· Providing individual and Board-approved supervision where appropriately qualified

· Facilitating peer/group supervision

· Mentoring and supporting psychologists and early-career clinicians

· Providing clinical consultation and support with complex presentations

· Supporting onboarding and clinician development

· Contributing to clinical governance and quality improvement

· Identifying and supporting professional development needs

· Supporting students and provisional psychologists undertaking placement

· Working alongside the Director and Practice Manager on clinical team and service development

As these responsibilities grow, dedicated non-client time would form part of the role.

Clinical leadership and supervision are meaningful responsibilities, and we believe they need appropriate time and space to be done well. We value sustainable workloads and would structure the clinical caseload accordingly.

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for an experienced psychologist who has developed genuine depth across their clinical career and is ready to bring that experience into a team.

You'll have:

- Full registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA
- Substantial post-registration experience as a practising psychologist
- Broad experience across client presentations and varying levels of complexity
- Strong clinical judgement and evidence-based practice
- Confidence navigating risk, professional boundaries, referral pathways and multidisciplinary care
- Strong understanding of clinical documentation, ethical practice and professional responsibilities
- Experience working collaboratively within a clinical team
- Strong professional communication skills
- The maturity to navigate challenging clinical and professional conversations
- An understanding of the systems and processes that sit around quality clinical care
- A genuine interest in supporting the development of other clinicians

Approximately five or more years of post-registration experience will be highly regarded, although we'll consider the depth and breadth of your experience rather than assessing suitability by years alone. Previous experience in supervision, mentoring,



team development or clinical leadership will be highly regarded.

For applicants interested in progressing into the Clinical Lead role and providing formal supervision, appropriate Psychology Board of Australia-approved supervisor status would be required prior to taking on formal supervision responsibilities.
