About the role

We are seeking an experienced Supported Independent Living (SIL) Manager to join our team in Mount Gambier SA on a full-time basis. This is a strategic leadership position that plays a crucial role in the successful management and delivery of our SIL services. As SIL Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of supported independent living programmes, ensuring compliance with funding agreements and regulatory requirements, whilst maintaining the highest standards of person-centred care.

This position reports to senior management and is integral to our commitment to supporting individuals with disabilities to live independently and with dignity.

Key responsibilities

- Manage the day-to-day operations of SIL services, including rostering, staffing allocation and service delivery coordination
- Oversee the recruitment, training, induction and performance management of support workers and team members
- Develop and implement individualised support plans in consultation with participants, families and relevant stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with disability support funding guidelines, regulatory requirements and OPTCARE policies and procedures
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of support services delivered,



implementing continuous improvements based on feedback and outcomes
- Manage budgets and resources effectively, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services
- Liaise with participants, families, carers and external agencies to ensure participant wellbeing and satisfaction
- Maintain accurate records and documentation, including incident reports, care plans and participant files
- Provide supervision and mentoring to support workers, fostering a positive and professional team culture
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance service quality and participant outcomes

What we're looking for

- Extensive experience managing Supported Independent Living services or residential facilities or similar disability support programmes
- Proven leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
- Strong knowledge of disability support legislation, funding frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Excellent organisational and administrative capabilities, with proficiency in rostering and budget management
- Demonstrated commitment to person-centred care and the promotion of individual autonomy and dignity
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with participants, families and stakeholders
- Problem-solving abilities and resilience in a agile,



sometimes challenging environment
- Certificate IV in Disability Support or equivalent qualification (or willingness to obtain)
- Current Senior First Aid and CPR certification
- Valid driver's licence and access to reliable transport
- Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
- Desirable: Experience with disability support management software and data reporting systems
- Desirable: Knowledge of the NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) framework
