We are currently seeking a part-time permanent staff member to joinour Library teams!
The role
Brimbank Libraries is a dynamic publiclibrary service in Melbourne's western suburbs delivering a range of servicesand programs to the community to support lifelong learning, literacy and socialconnection.
This is a rewarding opportunity for anenthusiastic library professional to work as part of a team, combining thecataloguing and maintenance of library collections with reader development andpromotions.
Applications from candidates with experiencein cataloguing and working with library collections are welcomed. Experience in providing support services toLibraries, particularly around the use of shelf ready suppliers is anadvantage.
This role isresponsible for:
- Liasingwith suppliers, addressing issues around order management, MARC records, orderreceipts and invoices,
maintenance of Library Standing Orders, and timelydelivery of library materials and other relevant matters.
- Originalcataloguing of library resources as required
- Supportingthe access and use of library resources both physical and digital
- Supportingthe wider library team in promoting and maintaining relevant high qualitylibrary collections

With a passion for connecting with thecommunity, you have:
- Excellent IT,online acquisitions and cataloguing skills including knowledge and experienceof working in an automated cataloguing environment
- Ability to workwith budgets including; ordering to set criteria & goals, managing monthlyspend
- Effectivecommunication skills with all stakeholders; including library & councilstaff, community members and supply chain partners.
- Excellentattention to detail and skills in managing time,
planning and prioritizing thetasks required of the position
- Ability to engagewith people from diverse backgrounds.
- An ability tomulti-task and think creatively, following established documentation andprocesses.
Hours are spreadacross the week and include a late shift to 8pm. Additional Sunday shifts areavailable as overtime.
Staff are required to work across any of thelibrary locations based at Deer Park, Keilor, St Albans, Sunshine and Sydenham.
All successfulcandidates must have a working with Children Check and undertake a Policecheck.
