Crust Farms Pty Ltd (trading as Mount Sylvia Fresh) is a third-generation family farming business specialising in the growing, packing and supply of premium Australian ginger and turmeric. We grow, pack and supply fresh produce to major Australian retailers and pride ourselves on strong standards in food safety, quality, workplace safety and operational efficiency.

Position Overview

The Facility Supervisor (Washing) will be responsible for overseeing the daily operation of our produce washing facility, including management of harvested product, washing operations, storage, employees, machinery and product flow into our Packing Shed.

Key responsibilities include:

· Supervising the daily operation of the Washing Shed and washing line.

· Managing the storage, washing and inflow of harvested product.

· Coordinating first-grade, second-grade and waste product through washing operations.

· Supervising, training and providing direction to Washing Shed employees.

· Monitoring product quality and ensuring early identification of quality issues.

· Managing and overseeing chemical applications used within Washing Shed operations.

· Coordinating with management to ensure harvest, washing and storage quotas are achieved.

· Ensuring sufficient washed product is available to meet Packing Shed and dispatch requirements.

· Operating forklifts and other machinery as required.

· Managing and carrying out routine maintenance of Washing Shed equipment and machinery where required.

· Maintaining accurate washing, harvest and storage records and operational logs.

· Maintaining records required to support Freshcare compliance.





· Managing the handling and disposal of waste product.

· Liaising with management and other operational teams regarding daily production requirements.

· Promoting workplace safety, product quality, hygiene and productive operation of the Washing Shed.

Key Skills and Attributes

The successful applicant will demonstrate: · Minimum 12 months experience supervising production, washing, packing or similar operations, preferably within horticulture, agriculture or fresh produce.

· Strong leadership and communication skills.

· Experience supervising and training employees.

· Experience operating agricultural, production or material-handling machinery.

· Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to work at a fast pace and take initiative.

· Strong understanding of workplace safety and safe machinery operation.

· Safety-oriented and quality-focused approach.

· Ability to maintain accurate operational and compliance records.

· Current Driver's Licence.

· Current High Risk Work Licence.

· Current ChemCert or equivalent chemical-handling competency.

· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

· Ability to safely lift loads up to 20 kg.

Hours of work may vary according to seasonality, production requirements and operational needs.
