Family Day Care Coordinator – Happy ‘N’ Friendly Family Day Care

Location: Goodna, Queensland

About Us

Happy 'N' Friendly Family Day Care is a warm, inclusive, and community-centred service committed to providing high-quality education and care in home-based environments. Our educator community is proudly diverse, with many educators coming from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

Because of this, we value team members who are confident working with educators who may have English as a second language and who can communicate regulatory requirements in a clear, respectful, and culturally responsive manner.

We operate using digital, cloud-based systems including Harmony and Google Workspace, and we are seeking an experienced and proactive Family Day Care Coordinator to join our Coordination Unit.

Key Responsibilities

As a Coordinator, you will:

- Support, mentor, and guide Family Day Care educators to meet National Law, Regulations, and National Quality Standards.
- Conduct regular home visits, monitor educator practice, and provide ongoing guidance aligned with regulatory expectations.
- Assist educators in planning, programming, and embedding the EYLF and MTOP frameworks into everyday practice.
- Support educators from CALD backgrounds or with varying levels of English literacy by helping them interpret compliance requirements, documentation, and service policies.
- Maintain accurate administrative, compliance, and CCS-related records using Harmony and Google Workspace.
- Collaborate with the Nominated Supervisor to support daily coordination unit operations.
- Foster strong, professional relationships with educators, families, and internal staff.
- Provide targeted coaching, mentoring, and quality improvement support.

Qualifications & ExperienceEssential Qualifications

- Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or ACECQA-approved equivalent)
- Current First Aid (HLTAID012), including Asthma and Anaphylaxis




- Working with Children Check (Blue Card – QLD)
- Accredited Child Protection Training
- Safe Sleep Training

Essential Experience

- Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Family Day Care Coordinator or similar early childhood leadership role
- Strong knowledge of:
- EYLF
- MTOP
- National Law & Regulations
- National Quality Standard (NQS)
- Family Assistance Law & CCS
- Demonstrated ability to support educators from CALD communities, including those for whom English is a second language
- Strong digital literacy and experience with online/cloud-based documentation systems

Additional Requirements

- High-level written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain compliance requirements in simple, accessible language
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
- Capacity to work independently and collaboratively
- Knowledge of the Work Health and Safety Act (2009)

Desirable

- Experience providing coaching or mentoring
- Ability to adapt communication styles to suit individual educator needs
- Confidence navigating Harmony, Google Workspace, and similar platforms
