Farm Performance and Information Branch deliver the collection, analysis and management of farm-level data. Our work ensures high-quality data, modelling and analysis informs policy and industry, makes agricultural insights accessible, and connects research with real-world outcomes.

This is where you play an important role.

As Farm Survey Administrator, you will support ABARES' farm survey program by providing high-quality administrative, financial and logistical support. The role helps ensure survey collection activities run smoothly, field staff are well supported, and the program continues to deliver reliable data that informs government and industry decision-making.

The duties of the role may include some or all of the following:

- Provide administrative, financial and operational support to the delivery of ABARES’ national Farm Surveys.
- Coordinate travel, onboarding, training,



equipment and logistics for a geographically dispersed workforce.
- Procurement and contract administration and expenditure monitoring in accordance with departmental and Commonwealth requirements.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with staff, contractors, survey participants and other stakeholders, and act as a key point of contact for enquiries.
- Monitor operational activities and reporting, identify opportunities for continuous improvement, and support effective program delivery.

Please note that the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may also be used to fill future ongoing vacancies in the branch where the duties are of a similar nature.

Who we are looking for

- Experience in travel management, operational support, procurement, contract and financial administration.
- Strong planning and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
- Sound judgement, problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to apply policies, procedures and governance requirements in a practical operational setting.
