Work arrangement: Mobile field-based role

MTData is seeking a practical and self-motivated Field Service Technician to install, service and maintain technology across customer vehicle fleets. We have three roles available; Perth, Sydney and Brisbane.

This is a fully mobile role servicing an assigned region. Working from a company vehicle, you will travel between customer sites, manage your daily schedule and complete technical work across both light and heavy vehicles. The equipment supported includes GPS tracking, mobile digital video recording, and driver safety and fatigue-management technology.

The role would suit an automotive electrician, vehicle accessory installer, auto-electrical technician or experienced field technician who enjoys fault-finding, hands-on work and the independence of working outside a traditional workshop.

What you will be doing

- Installing, servicing and maintaining electronic equipment in light and heavy vehicles

- Diagnosing faults involving devices, antennas, cabling and related components

- Completing scheduled work efficiently and to the required installation standards

- Following technical documentation and providing feedback where instructions need improvement

- Managing your schedule, travel and job priorities across an assigned service region

- Representing MTData professionally when working at customer sites

- Completing job cards, stock records and other service documentation accurately

- Maintaining suitable spare parts and consumables in the company vehicle

- Using the company vehicle and specialised tools safely and appropriately





- Supporting the wider Field Services team during periods of increased demand

What you will bring

- Experience installing or servicing electrical or electronic components in vehicles

- Practical fault-finding skills across automotive electronic devices and accessories

- Strong attention to detail and a consistent standard of workmanship
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision

- Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers

- Confidence working in a mobile, physically active and changing environment
- The ability to organise competing jobs and adjust to changing priorities
- A current Australian driver’s licence

- Full Australian working rights

- Flexibility to work additional hours, weekends or after-hours call-outs when required

An automotive electrical background will be highly regarded, although applications are also encouraged from candidates with relevant experience in vehicle technology, accessory installation, fleet equipment or field servicing.
