About the role

This is a hands-on field position across South East Queensland, split between installing and servicing robotic mowing systems and running demonstrations and trials for new customers. Our predominant service area runs from the Sunshine Coast through Brisbane to the Gold Coast, taking in Toowoomba and the surrounding region, with occasional work further afield.

The demonstration side of the role puts you in front of real customers. Domestic buyers deciding on a machine for their property, and commercial clients such as golf courses, sports fields, schools and colleges evaluating robotic mowing across large sites. You set the machines up, run them, and show people what the technology can actually do.

You will begin working alongside our senior technicians, learning the products and our methods on real sites. Once you are working independently, typically within the first couple of months, you move onto your own run with a fully maintained company vehicle, phone, laptop and full tooling.

Key responsibilities

- Install and commission robotic mowing systems, including RTK positioning, charging docks, boundary mapping and perimeter wire where required
- Set up and run product demonstrations for prospective domestic and commercial customers
- Deploy and manage extended trials on commercial sites such as golf courses, sports fields, schools and colleges, including liaising with the client throughout
- Attend on-site breakdowns, diagnose faults and carry out repairs in the field
- Set up and troubleshoot app-based systems, GPS/RTK positioning, wi-fi and mobile connectivity
- Conduct site assessments and run customer handover training
- Service commercial installations under scheduled service agreements
- Manage your own van stock, tooling and job records
- Work with the workshop team on more complex repairs

About you We are not looking for a specific ticket or qualification. We are looking for someone practical, capable with their hands, and genuinely interested in how things work.



Almost nobody has direct robotic mower experience, and we do not expect it.

- Practical, hands-on and mechanically minded. The sort of person who fixes things rather than replaces them
- Comfortable dealing with people, and confident explaining how something works to a customer who has never seen the technology before
- Comfortable with smartphones and apps. A large part of this role is digital, and you need to be at ease with that
- Current Queensland driver's licence with a clean record
- Presentable and professional. You are in customers' homes and on commercial sites representing the business
- Willing to learn, and able to work independently once you are up to speed
- Legally entitled to work in Australia

Advantageous but not required: experience repairing outdoor power equipment, automotive, small engine or similar; basic electrical knowledge; any fault-finding background across mechanical, electrical or software systems; any background in demonstrating or presenting equipment to customers. If you have none of this but you are practical, switched on and good with people, apply anyway.

Robot Lawn Mowers Australia is Queensland's specialist in robotic mowing systems. We sell, install and service the major global brands, including Husqvarna, Kress, Mammotion, Segway and Roborock, to domestic and commercial customers across South East Queensland and nationally. We are a six-person team with no corporate layers. You deal directly with the owner.
