About Our Client

Our client is a well-established and growing retail organisation based in Melbourne's south-eastern suburbs. With a strong market presence and a rapid-paced environment, the business is seeking an experienced finance leader to oversee the accounting function and support strategic decision-making.

- Lead, mentor and develop a team across Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and finance operations.

- Oversee month-end, year-end and group financial reporting activities.

- Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning processes.

- Prepare financial analysis and reporting packs for senior leadership.

- Oversee BAS preparation, taxation reporting and statutory compliance.

- Manage group accounting, including consolidated reporting and intercompany reconciliations.

- Review profit centre performance and provide commercial insights to support decision-making.

- Maintain strong financial controls and oversee balance sheet reconciliations.

- Liaise with external accountants, banking partners and regulatory bodies.

- Drive process improvement initiatives and enhance finance systems and controls.

- Ensure payroll processes and broader finance operations are completed accurately and on time.

- Oversee group reporting, statutory compliance and taxation obligations, ensuring strong governance and financial integrity.

- Evaluate business and profit centre performance, identifying opportunities to improve profitability and operational efficiency.

- Lead financial planning initiatives, scenario modelling and business performance reviews to support growth and investment decisions.

- Strengthen financial controls, risk management frameworks and balance sheet governance across the organisation.

- Build trusted relationships with external stakeholders including auditors, banking partners, advisers and regulatory bodies.

- Champion finance transformation projects, leveraging systems, automation and process improvements to enhance capability and scalability.

- Ensure the finance function operates as a strategic business partner, delivering both operational excellence and commercial value across the organisation.
