About the Role

Reporting to the General Manager Finance, this is an excellent opportunity for an up-and-coming finance professional looking to take the next step into a Finance Manager position.

The role combines strong technical accounting responsibilities with the day-to-day leadership of a small finance team. You will remain hands-on across month-end, financial reporting, audit, taxation and balance sheet management, while also taking responsibility for coaching, mentoring and developing the team.

This is particularly well suited to a technically strong Senior Financial Accountant or emerging Finance Manager who has already gained exposure to supervising, training or mentoring others and is now ready to take greater ownership of a finance function.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead month-end and year-end close, including journals, reconciliations,



management accounts and financial analysis
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the finance team, providing technical guidance and setting priorities
- Coordinate statutory compliance including BAS, GST, FBT, payroll tax and external audit requirements
- Coach, mentor and develop team members while building accountability and capability
- Drive improvements across finance processes, reporting, systems and internal controls

About You

- CA or CPA qualified, or nearing completion
- Strong technical accounting background, ideally from a Senior Financial Accountant, emerging Finance Manager or similar role
- Demonstrated experience with month-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliations, audit and Australian taxation requirements
- Previous exposure to leading, supervising, training or mentoring finance staff
- Confident communicator with strong organisational skills and the desire to develop into a well-rounded Finance Manager

Important Notes

This role is based in the client's North Brisbane office and requires someone who is comfortable working five days per week in the office.
