The Opportunity
Step into a vital role supporting the Finance Services. As a Finance & Payroll Officer, you will maintain rotating duties across Finance, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll to ensure consistent support and operational continuity.
You will deliver effective financial operations and provide excellent customer service to the community and Council employees.
Your daily tasks will involve processing daily bank transactions and reconciling general ledger accounts, undertaking weekly payroll preparation and processing, inputting and processing creditors invoices, and preparing debtor invoices and statements. You will also help prepare detailed reports for Committee and Council meetings, assist with debt recovery management, and aid the finalisation of year-end processes and the Annual Budget.
About You
You are an analytical, solutions-focused, and ethical qualified with a proven ability to produce high quality work under pressure and meet deadlines. You possess well-developed interpersonal and communication skills and the technical ability to maintain and operate a computerised accounting system.
To succeed in this role, you will bring
- A Certificate IV or higher in Financial Services, Accounts Clerical or Business Administration.
- Developed experience in reconciling accounts and demonstrated skills in data entry.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to set and meet priorities within a team and unsupervised.
- A strong customer relations focus with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
