The opportunity

Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is seeking an experienced and organised Finance Officer to join our Finance Team in Wagga Wagga.

This is a hands-on finance role offering variety across accounts payable and receivable, banking and reconciliations, workers compensation, invoicing, vehicle administration, payroll support and general financial administration.

You will work closely with the Senior Finance Officer, The Executive Team, Program Managers and other teams across RivMed to ensure financial transactions and records are accurate, timely and well managed.

RivMed works to effect change in the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our community. We work to achieve this through the provision of culturally appropriate medical and well-being services for Aboriginal people and their families.

About the Role

As Finance Officer, you will be responsible for a diverse range of day-to-day financial and administrative activities, including:

- Processing and reconciling banking transactions, EFTs, deposits and credit card/Mastercard expenditure.
- Managing accounts payable and receivable, including invoices, payments, reimbursements and debtor follow-up.
- Processing workers compensation financial transactions and invoices and liaising with insurers and relevant stakeholders.
- Managing cost allocations, working with managers to ensure expenditure is accurately allocated and aligned with budgets.
- Preparing invoices, monitoring outstanding accounts and working closely with managers to follow up debtors.
- Administering RivMed vehicle leases,



registrations, servicing, maintenance and scheduling.
- Providing finance-related support for payroll, employee enquiries, leave, superannuation and salary sacrifice.
- Supporting budget monitoring, procurement and financial reporting across RivMed programs.
- Maintaining accurate financial records and undertaking data entry into Xero and other organisational systems.
- Supporting compliance, audit, taxation and statutory reporting requirements.
- Identifying discrepancies and contributing to improvements in financial processes, systems and procedures.

This is a outstanding opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, problem-solving and working collaboratively across an organisation, while also being comfortable managing routine financial tasks with a high level of accuracy.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

- Experienced in finance, bookkeeping, accounts administration or a similar role. A relevant qualification in finance, bookkeeping, accounting or business administration is desirable; however, relevant demonstrated experience will also be considered.
- Confident undertaking financial data entry, reconciliations and accounts payable/receivable functions.
- Highly organised, accurate and attentive to detail.
- Comfortable working with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Able to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work independently.
- A confident communicator who can build positive working relationships with staff, patients, suppliers and external stakeholders.
- Able to investigate discrepancies,



resolve issues and follow matters through to completion.
- Committed to maintaining confidentiality when dealing with sensitive financial, employee and patient information.
- Committed to RivMed's purpose and to providing culturally safe and respectful services to Aboriginal people, families and communities.

Desirable

- Experience using Xero or similar accounting software
- Experience using ELMO HR & Payroll or similar systems
- Experience working within an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation or the not-for-profit sector
