A lawyer with between 2 and 5 years PAE is sought to assist and manage various family law matters. The role involves working directly at the coalface with clients from a diverse range of backgrounds and circumstances.
Key responsibilities
- Assist and manage various family law matters
- Work directly with clients from diverse backgrounds and circumstances
- Handle family law matters such as divorce, de facto relationships, financial agreements, property matters and settlements, child support and parenting matters
- Make court appearances in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and the Magistrates' Court of Victoria
- Conduct advocacy work
- Occasional involvement in intervention order matters, wills and deceased estates and PEXA transactions
- Draft various legal documents including correspondence and Court documents
- Interview and communicate with clientsConduct legal research
About you
- Between 2 and 5 years PAE
- Enthusiastic about family law
- Technical skills in drafting legal documents
- Ability to interview and communicate positively and effectively with clients
- Knowledge of the law and ability to conduct legal research
- Ability to work well autonomously and collaboratively
- Familiarity with Smokeball and PEXA highly regarded, although not essential
