MARMAX TRANSPORT PTY LTD is a transport business based in Redbank, Queensland. We are seeking an experienced and organised Fleet Manager to oversee the effective operation, maintenance and administration of the company's vehicle fleet.

The successful candidate will coordinate fleet activities, monitor vehicle performance and maintenance, support drivers, manage compliance requirements and work with management to ensure safe and effective transport operations.

As Fleet Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day operation of the company's fleet and ensuring vehicles are available, safe, compliant and appropriately maintained.

You will work closely with drivers, mechanics, suppliers and management to minimise downtime, control operating costs and maintain efficient fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and coordinate the day-to-day operations of the company vehicle fleet.
- Monitor vehicle availability, utilisation, performance and operating costs.
- Schedule and coordinate regular servicing, inspections, repairs and preventative maintenance.
- Maintain accurate fleet records, including registration, servicing, inspections and maintenance history.
- Monitor vehicle defects and ensure repairs are completed promptly.
- Coordinate with mechanics, workshops, suppliers and service providers.
- Assist with vehicle purchasing, replacement and disposal decisions.
- Monitor fuel usage, maintenance costs and other fleet-related expenses.
- Maintain records relating to fuel, kilometres, servicing and vehicle performance.




- Coordinate vehicle allocation and availability according to operational requirements.
- Communicate with drivers regarding vehicle condition, maintenance and operational requirements.
- Ensure drivers complete required vehicle checks and report defects appropriately.
- Monitor compliance with relevant transport, workplace health and safety and company requirements.
- Assist with managing driver records, licences, training and related documentation.
- Investigate vehicle incidents, breakdowns and damage and maintain appropriate records.
- Develop and implement procedures to improve fleet efficiency and reduce unnecessary costs.
- Prepare regular fleet performance and maintenance reports for management.
- Identify opportunities to improve vehicle utilisation, safety and operational efficiency.
- Provide general operational support to management as required.

Skills and Experience The successful applicant will ideally have:
- Previous experience in fleet management, transport management or a similar position.
- Experience managing commercial vehicles and coordinating vehicle maintenance.
- Good understanding of fleet operations, servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.




- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to coordinate drivers, mechanics, suppliers and other stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
- Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced transport environment.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and fleet management systems.
- Understanding of Australian transport compliance requirements will be highly regarded.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications A qualification in Fleet Management, Transport Management, Logistics, Business Management or a related field will be highly regarded. Relevant industry experience in fleet or transport operations will also be considered.
