This is an exciting opportunity for a food and beverage professional with strong leadership skills, a passion for guest service and a sound understanding of operational and financial performance.

Reporting to our Food & Beverage Manager, the Assistant Food & Beverage Manager will help lead the day-to-day operation of Mr. Good Guy and support the hotel’s other F&B; services. This hands-on role focuses on developing the team, delivering great guest experiences, maintaining service standards and managing stock and costs.

About the job…

- Lead daily operations at Mr. Good Guy, supporting the team on the floor and ensuring consistently friendly, professional and efficient service.
- Support the hotel’s other food and beverage services, including the bar and lobby lounge, conference room, room service and minibar.
- Coach, train and motivate team members, building their confidence, product knowledge and service skills.
- Assist with recruitment, induction, performance reviews and ongoing team development.
- Support rostering, verify team member time records and monitor staffing levels to meet business needs and manage wage costs.
- Monitor beverage costs, stock levels and ordering requirements, completing monthly beverage stocktakes and timely reporting.
- Assist with monitoring departmental budgets,



controlling costs and identifying opportunities to increase revenue and profitability.
- Ensure responsible service of alcohol practices, licensing requirements, food safety and workplace health and safety standards are maintained.
- Oversee opening and closing procedures, cash handling, till balancing and the accurate operation of point-of-sale systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment, ensuring equipment is well cared for and maintenance needs are reported promptly.
- Respond to guest enquiries and complaints with professionalism, using feedback to improve service and guest satisfaction.
- Deliver on the Novotel service promise and recognise our Accor Live Limitless loyalty members.
- Run regular team briefings and work closely with other departments to support smooth hotel operations.
- Take responsibility for the food and beverage department in the absence of the Food & Beverage Manager.
- Work a rotating roster, including early mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends and public holidays.

About you…

- Previous experience in a food and beverage leadership role, ideally within a hotel or busy restaurant environment.
- A hands-on leadership style, with experience coaching, inspiring and developing teams to deliver excellent service.
- Experience creating rosters, managing wage costs and matching staffing levels to business needs.
- Sound understanding of beverage stock control,



stocktakes, cost management and departmental financial performance.
- A passion for food, wine and hospitality, with the ability to build strong product knowledge within your team.
- A calm, professional approach to guest complaints, conflict resolution and team performance.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to build positive relationships across departments and with guests and suppliers.
- Confidence using operational reports and guest feedback to identify opportunities to improve service and profitability.
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise competing demands while supporting a busy team.
- Strong computer skills; experience with Micros Simphony, Order Up, Purchase Plus and Opera Cloud is an advantage.
- A current RSA certificate valid in Tasmania; First Aid certification is desirable.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including early mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Current working rights in Australia are essential. Sponsorship is not available for this position.
