FORKLIFT OPERATOR

About the Role:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day operations of our packing shed, focusing on the safe and efficient handling of goods during receival and dispatch. The successful applicant will work closely with both the Packing Shed Manager and Farming Manager to ensure all loading and unloading processes run smoothly and are documented accurately.

Working Hours: Monday to Thursday (38 hours) with occasional Friday overtime. This is a Full Time position with above award wages.

Key Responsibilities:

- Follow all Workplace Health and Safety and Environmental procedures
- Perform pre-start checks and maintain correct use of PPE
- Report any machinery or equipment issues promptly
- Operate forklifts safely and efficiently
- Manage all farm receivals and dispatches
- Transport goods carefully to avoid damage




- Wrap and prepare pallets for cold storage or transport
- Liaise with management to coordinate loading requirements
- Ensure accurate labelling and stacking of cartons and pallets
- Maintain accurate records of dispatches and receivals
- Complete and verify dispatch paperwork and consignment details
- Monitor cold rooms and ensure a clean, organised work workplace
- Carry out routine services and minor repairs to the item of plant being operated in consultation with the Workshop Supervisor
- Stocktake and management of all packing materials

Skills and Experience:

- LF Forklift - High Risk Work Licence
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks reliably
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new responsibilities
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude
- Prior experience in a similar role, desirable
- Valid car driver's licence
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and data entry ability
